PVH’s Recruit Ethically Training Drives Progress Toward Forward Fashion Target

Our Forward Fashion strategy sets a priority to recruit ethically by partnering with suppliers to ensure they are implementing ethical recruitment practices for migrant workers. One of PVH’s key targets is for 100% of migrant workers at our Level 1 and key Level 2 suppliers to not pay recruitment fees by 2025. To help achieve this, PVH launched Recruit Ethically training for our suppliers in 12 high-risk countries.

The training sessions focus on the key elements of  PVH’s Migrant Worker Policy, including our “no fees” requirement, and the development of management systems, labor agent due diligence, and fee remediation. Additionally, attendees were provided with information on best practices to address COVID-19 impacts on migrant workers.

In a recent statistic snapshot, the International Labor Organization (ILO) reported that more than 24.9 million people are trapped in forced labor, with 9.1 million migrating domestically or internationally for work. Forced labor is defined as work or service exacted from a person under the threat of penalty, which PVH recognizes as a global issue impacting supply chains across industries. Through partnerships with organizations like the  Responsible Labor Initiative (RLI), PVH is dedicated to scaling cross-industry efforts to address forced labor in supply chains globally. Building upon our updated Migrant Worker Policy and enhanced risk assessments, PVH’s Recruit Ethically training furthers our progress toward proactively addressing and eradicating recruitment fees in supply chains.

Over the course of four sessions across three continents, the Recruit Ethically training reached over 200 people from factory managers and vendors to PVH supply associates. PVH provided the tools and resources needed for suppliers to comply with our “no fees” policy as we work to achieve our Forward Fashion target, including our  CR Supply Chain Guidelines and the PVH Code of Conduct, A Shared Commitment.

As an extension of these initial trainings, PVH is partnering with the RLI to launch an e-learning platform, making additional trainings on forced labor available to suppliers on an ongoing basis.
