Describe your role in the PVH organization?
I oversee PVH’s Global Supply Chain function with the goal to fuel PVH’s overall growth objectives by delivering product on time and at the optimal cost and quality to our consumers around the world. My focus is on streamlining our supply chain’s operational model to align globally, create a competitive advantage and deliver with greater efficiency. In this role, I will seek to strengthen partnerships across all areas of the value chain and continue to position PVH as a leader in the industry to collaborate and drive new solutions at scale. Most importantly, I will continue to leverage the innovative, agile and diverse talent across PVH’s global supply chain to drive the business forward.
How did you land on the five value-creating priorities for PVH Supply to help drive the business forward?
PVH Supply’s five value-creating priorities originated from listening to our global teams. They were established as a framework to deliver key growth enabling strategies that will differentiate us from competitors, fuel the growth of our brands, and drive shareholder value.
We are holding ourselves accountable and being transparent in our progress by creating measurable goals to help drive our vision forward. The best part is the synergy – all five priorities are interrelated, if we move the needle on one, we will impact the others.
What is the biggest business challenge facing the global supply chain?
The biggest challenge is balancing multiple layers of complexity and change coming at us, whether it’s related to consumer shift shopping patterns, geo-political, sustainability and innovation. These are all exciting changes, yet complex. There are some situations you can plan for, and others, like COVID-19, where we have to be a little more reactionary.
I am fortunate enough to work with an incredibly agile and resilient team and partners across the global Supply Chain that continue to deliver for the company during unmeasurable disruption, without losing sight of our values.
What makes you optimistic about the future?
I love change and challenges. The current acceleration of change is something I fundamentally believe in and is incredibly motivating. We are on a journey both within the company and the apparel industry to find scalable, impactful solutions that will create long-term positive change on the global Supply Chain.
Under Stefan’s leadership, we are driving future growth with a one team approach and clear objectives, that makes me optimistic we can achieve our goals and deliver for the consumer and further drive fashion forward for good.
What is the best advice you've been given throughout your career?
“Lead with values first and treat people how you’d like to be treated and how they’d want to be treated.”
“If other people believe in you, and believe you can do something, you should believe it yourself.”
“Show me, don’t tell me,” and “walk the walk, don’t talk the talk.”
What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
“Be open minded to all opportunities that come your way.”
There were some opportunities I didn’t think I would have enjoyed or been open to, and those have been some of the best decisions in my career.
Which of our values – Individuality, Passion, Partnership, Integrity and Accountability – speaks the most to you, and how do you live that value?
All of PVH’s values speak to me. I think what’s important is the combination of our values and how that is reflected in your management style and work.
If I had to pick just one, I believe leading with integrity is invaluable. Especially during COVID-19, we have all learned the importance of humanity, humility and integrity.
“Integrity alone won’t make you a leader, but without integrity, you will never be one.” – Zig Zilar
