PVH Associates Help Shape I&D Initiatives with Listening Sessions

At PVH, we strive to continuously learn and better ourselves, identifying the opportunities we have to grow and evolve, especially in how we address discrimination, inequality and racism in the workplace. As an organization, we are committed to strengthening our culture and creating an inclusive environment where every individual is valued.

In partnership with PVH’s Building Resources for African American Voices and Empowerment (BRAAVE) business resource group in New York, we established the Be BRAAVE  initiative in June to support the Black community and to advance the company’s ongoing efforts to achieve equality and racial justice. As part of the three-pronged commitment focused on listening, learning and action, we hosted 10 Associate Listening Sessions from August – October 2020, attended by over 100 North America retail and corporate associates across brands and business functions.

The Associate Listening Sessions were created to provide a safe space for Black associates to share their experiences at PVH with senior leaders, and discuss suggestions to incorporate into Inclusion & Diversity strategic plans.

The sessions discussed a number of themes, and are incorporating the feedback associates shared in the planned actions and changes to further our I&D initiatives.

These actions include:

  • Expanding  I&D educational trainings offerings in Fall 2020 and into 2021

  • Building  out  targeted diversity recruiting strategy, which includes expanding Howard University partnership

  • Instituting  formal interview training which encompasses unconscious bias

  • Re-evaluating  new talent onboarding curriculum to include I&D themes

  • Assessing  leadership development program for Black associates

  • Exploring  implementing mentoring programs through business resource groups

  • Training  leaders on how to manage teams with limited diverse representation

  • Formalizing  listening sessions to engage associates and leadership

  • Establishing  new supplier diversity program in partnership with procurement team

  • Partnering  with The PVH Foundation to assess and establish new philanthropic partnerships

The Associate Listening Sessions highlight the work ahead of us to achieve a greater level of inclusion and diversity across all aspects of our business. We are committed to supporting and advancing the professional and personal lives of all our associates, and to continue driving fashion forward – for good.
