Tommy Hilfiger announces the second Tommy’s Drop Shop release, a limited edition micro-capsule co-designed with London-born, Melbourne-based contemporary artist, Mysterious Al (@mysteriousal). Tommy’s Drop Shop aims to encourage the continual discovery of creatives, their communities and artistic talents. With less than 200 units per style, DROP 2 will be available in Europe exclusively on tommy.com from February 12, 2021.
In his Tommy’s Drop Shop designs, Mysterious Al channels spontaneity and energy while drawing from a rich study of method and color. His co-designed range of short-sleeved T-shirts, long sleeved T-shirts and a hoodie sweater transforms freestyled shapes in a way that brings order to chaos. Al rose to fame in the early 2000s through the explosion of street art, when he became notorious for his wall paintings, paste-ups and street installations. Throughout the years, Al’s work has evolved to evoke deeper meaning. He now reimagines ancient tribal masks and works with a vibrant, primary color palette.
Tommy’s Drop Shop invites creators from all areas of pop culture to collaborate on lightning-quick, limited-edition releases. Each DROP offers gender-neutral hoodies and T-shirts available in low quantities and made from 100% organic cotton or recycled cotton, building on the brand’s mission to create fashion that Wastes Nothing and Welcomes All. Creative collaboration has always been at the heart of Tommy Hilfiger, and over the last five years, the brand has fused this with a “See Now, Buy Now” mentality. Tommy’s Drop Shop combines the best of these approaches with a new level of speed and energy. The third Tommy’s Drop Shop micro-capsule will launch in April 2021.
