PVH Associates Reflect on Impact of Fashion Scholarship Fund

As a longtime sponsor of the Fashion Scholarship Fund, PVH would like to congratulate the fund’s Class of 2021 Scholarship recipients. The FSF supports the careers of some of the country’s most promising fashion students, with internships, mentorships, networking opportunities, and access to the industry’s most influential leaders and companies.

David Sirkin, Group President, Heritage Brands, and Sam Archibald, President, Calvin Klein Retail, North America, sit on the FSF board of governors. They have provided years of mentorship and opportunities at PVH for scholars starting out in the fashion industry.

As we look forward to this year’s new class, and what they will accomplish, we spoke with current PVH associates who participated in the program in the past on how the FSF prepared them for a career at PVH:

Dylan Carlin, Account Executive II, Heritage Brands

“Through the FSF program I was introduced to PVH and was able to jump start my career. I interned with PVH as my intern requirement for the program and was matched with a mentor within the PVH business group I am still part of today! Early in my career, I would reference back to my case study on many occasions. Attending college in California, I believe the scholarship was what helped me make connections in New York and enabled me to come back home to the East Coast! The program has provided me with countless business contacts, as my career has progressed with PVH I have continued to form connections based on my FSF Scholarship.”

Lindsay Choi, Designer I, Heritage Brands

“The FSF helped me to secure an internship in New York after I graduated. During my first summer as an FSF scholar, I was given the opportunity to build a network of fellow alumni and meet several industry leaders working at major fashion companies, including PVH. This experience helped me to develop many important skills such as team collaboration, adaptability, and leadership. Hearing the stories and advice from skilled and important executives, I was inspired, and these meetings continue to encourage me to reach for the stars.”

Melissa Feeney, Senior Analyst, Customer Analytics

“The FSF was one of my favorite things that I was involved in during my undergraduate years at Lehigh University, and continue my involvement in today as an Alumni member. Through the program and attending FSF events, I was exposed to various functions within the apparel industry, each of which has a unique perspective. This understanding has served me well in my career at PVH, where I oftentimes work with associates in many different functions.”

Emma Brown, Assistant Designer, Calvin Klein

“The Fashion Scholarship Fund has played a pivotal role in my professional development and ultimately getting me to the position that I am in today. I don’t think that I would have the same access to networking and internship opportunities that I do if it were not for my involvement with the FSF program. The in-depth case study challenged me to think about the future of the fashion industry that I wanted to work towards in my own career. As a scholarship recipient, I was given opportunities that introduced me to many industry experts as well as other young professionals. I am grateful that the FSF continuously offers learning opportunities to their alumni, and allows me to remain connected to those in the industry that are dedicated to helping the future generation of leaders.”

Meghan Crane, Director Marketplace Insights, PVH

“The goal of the FSF is to help students succeed in the fashion industry by providing scholars opportunities for internships and jobs (in addition to the scholarship!). This led me to PVH in May of 2018 as Manager of Marketplace Insights. I am so proud to work at a company that is such a HUGE sponsor for the FSF. Sponsors allow the FSF to grow especially for the Alumni network which now has year-round development events and networking opportunities. Even during the pandemic, the FSF continues their great work; for example, I am attending a virtual conversation with Virgil Abloh highlighting non-fashion collaborations. Sessions like these continue to challenge me but also feed into my role here at PVH as Director Marketplace Insights. Being on top of the fashion news is part of my job and what better way then hearing from the leaders of the industry.”
